Camera-Embedded Detector not triggering at motion detection in camera

Q: I use Camera-Embedded Detector set to record when my camera’s built-in detector detects motion. It doesn’t work for some reason. Can you help me?

A: OK, it looks like the non-triggering happens due to the camera’s Motion Detector settings you have there in the Camera-Embedded Detector module. Sensitivity might be too high, as well as “Minimum time between motions”, “Minimum length of motion”. Try using lower values here and in the rest of the settings, and we’re sure the Camera’s Motion Detector will start working in Xeoma.

If you’d want to use the Motion Detection zone (which is not given by the camera to Xeoma), you can go to the camera web admin page and set it up there if the camera has it at all.
Please refer to the camera documentation for best practices on how to set up their Motion Detector. It’s outside of Xeoma, so not really within our scope of advice.

Alternatively, you can just use Xeoma’s own Motion Detector – it seems to do the same, and is quite easier to work with – at least we can advise on its configuration. See more about Xeoma’s own Motion Detector (and the setup guide is here)
